The Contract Companies feature in EvergreenWorx Contracts provides a simple way to associate third-party organizations with a contract record. These are typically organizations involved in the contract that are not the signing party, such as law firms, consultants, external reviewers, or stakeholders.
This article explains the purpose of Contract Companies, how to use the feature, and how it can help provide context and traceability across your contract portfolio.
What Is a Contract Company?
A Contract Company is a related entity that allows users to link supporting or involved companies to a contract. These entities help capture the broader ecosystem around a contract without overloading the primary Account or Contact fields.
Common Examples
-
A legal firm responsible for reviewing or drafting the contract.
-
A regulatory body associated with compliance.
-
A subcontractor or third party participating indirectly.
Fields on the Contract Company Record
Each Contract Company record includes the following fields:
-
Name: A short, descriptive label explaining the company’s role (e.g., “External Legal Counsel” or “Reviewing Authority”). This is especially helpful when multiple companies are associated with the contract.
-
Company: A lookup to the Account table. This identifies the organization being linked to the contract.
-
Relationship Type: A choice field that describes the nature of the company’s involvement. This can be configured to match your organization’s classifications (e.g., Legal, Advisory, Subcontractor).
